Occupational Therapist

Responsibilities

• Undertake home visits to assess complex needs and review recommendations from locality teams
• Provide detailed recommendations for major adaptations and specialist equipment
• Prepare sketches, specifications, and technical reports for major works
• Interpret housing plans and designs for adaptations
• Liaise with contractors, housing teams, and partner agencies to deliver adaptations
• Oversee cases through to completion of works
• Complete manual handling assessments where required
• Maintain accurate and compliant case records

Requirements

• Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration
• Strong experience in major adaptations (DFG)
• Experience in specialist equipment provision
• Experience in manual handling assessments
• Ability to produce technical specifications and reports
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings/plans
• Ability to manage cases from assessment through to completion

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience within a Local Authority OT service
• Experience working within Major Adaptations or Housing teams
