Occupational Therapist

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality occupational therapy services for students in individual and group settings per IESP/IEP mandates
• Conduct assessments of fine motor, visual-motor, sensory processing, and daily living skills
• Create and execute evidence-based treatment plans using sensory integration and motor learning principles
• Modify classroom environments, learning materials, and assistive devices to improve student independence
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and school administrators to ensure coordinated care
• Provide guidance to educational staff on positioning and adaptive equipment
• Maintain detailed and timely documentation of services and progress per DOE regulations
• Participate in IESP/IEP meetings to provide expert recommendations

Requirements

• Current valid NYS license as an Occupational Therapist in good standing
• NBCOT certification
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in school-based or pediatric settings
• Competency in electronic documentation systems and teletherapy platforms
• NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status (or willingness to complete)
