Occupational Therapist

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality occupational therapy services for students in individual and group settings as mandated by IESP/IEP
• Conduct assessments to evaluate fine motor, visual-motor, sensory processing, and daily living skills
• Create and execute evidence-based treatment plans utilizing sensory integration and motor learning principles
• Adjust and modify classroom environments, learning materials, and assistive devices
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and school administrators to ensure coordinated care
• Offer guidance to educational staff on positioning and adaptive equipment usage
• Maintain detailed and timely documentation per DOE regulations
• Participate in IESP/IEP meetings to provide expert recommendations

Requirements

• Current valid NYS license as an Occupational Therapist
• NBCOT certification
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in school-based or pediatric settings
• Competency in electronic documentation systems and teletherapy platforms
• NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status (or willingness to complete)
