Occupational Therapist Assistant Certified

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
• Assist in carrying out treatment plans to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, self-regulation, and functional life skills
• Support students in classroom routines and daily activities to enhance participation and engagement
• Document student progress, maintain accurate daily notes, and provide timely input to the Occupational Therapist
• Assist in conducting student screenings and assessments as directed
• Prepare and organize therapy materials and maintain a clean, safe, and sensory-supportive therapy environment
• Participate in treatment team and Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) meetings

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant studies from an ACOTE-accredited program
• Current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
• Valid New Jersey certification to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant
