Occupational Nurse/EMT

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing support and first aid treatment for occupational health issues, injuries, and illnesses.
• Conduct patient assessments, triage urgent situations, and coordinate care with medical services managers.
• Manage case logistics, including arranging imaging, finding specialists, and coordinating return-to-work plans.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and provide necessary documentation to the safety team.
• Educate employees on occupational health risks, preventative measures, and wellness strategies.
• Assist with drug and alcohol screenings, respirator fit tests, and vision screenings.
• Support workplace safety initiatives and manage administrative tasks such as safety gear stock counts.

Requirements

• Registered Nursing (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree, OR EMT Basic/Paramedic Certification.
• 2-5 years of medical experience, preferably in occupational health or telemedicine.
• Proficiency in Microsoft programs and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for conveying complex health information.
• Ability to work onsite in Conway Springs, KS, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (weekend coverage may be required).

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration.
• Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or Certified Occupational Health Nurse Specialist (COHN-S) certification.
