About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational health and first aid case management services at assigned locations.
  • Assess, plan, and deliver timely first aid care to prevent escalation to OSHA recordable events.
  • Perform physical examinations for regulatory compliance (including NRC/Nuclear specific requirements).
  • Maintain confidential employee medical files and documentation in compliance with HIPAA and state/federal laws.
  • Manage medical documentation, including scheduling mandated physicals and medical tests.
  • Serve as a resource for employee health and wellness, providing EAP referrals when necessary.
  • Communicate health education through written articles, presentations, and participation in safety meetings.
  • Conduct ergonomic evaluations and support corporate wellness programs.
  • Travel to assigned sites as needed and remain available for on-call duties during emergencies or storm deployments.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Nursing.
  • Two years of experience as an Occupational Health Nurse or two years of hospital experience.
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) Certification.
  • Knowledge of ADA, FMLA, OSHA, and Workers' Compensation laws.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA requirements and medical confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and occupational health data programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Knowledge of NRC regulations.
  • Certifications in Audiometric and Spirometry testing.
  • Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) designation.
