About the role
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat work-related illnesses and injuries, providing emergency medical response, triage, and first aid.
- Conduct pre-employment, periodic, and fitness-for-duty medical examinations.
- Manage complex workers’ compensation and disability cases, acting as a medical liaison between employees, the company, and insurance providers.
- Design and implement medical surveillance programs based on workplace risk assessments.
- Lead health education, wellness, and preventive care initiatives.
- Analyze occupational health data to identify emerging risks and recommend control measures to management.
- Ensure compliance with Mexican occupational health regulations (STPS, IMSS) and maintain confidential medical records.
- Serve as a subject matter expert to EHS, HR, and line managers regarding health and safety policies.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
- Valid Medical License to practice in Mexico.
- Board Certification in Occupational Medicine (or national equivalent).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
- Knowledge of or certification in ISO 45001.
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience as an Occupational Health Physician in industrial or corporate settings.
- Specialization or postgraduate degree in Occupational Health, Public Health, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing complex medical cases and health programs with high autonomy.
