About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as a change agent to develop a strong health and safety culture
- Coach managers in developing health and safety leadership
- Implement and monitor health and safety programs, procedures, and tools
- Conduct workplace inspections and maintain a visible presence in the field
- Assess workplace hazards and recommend risk prevention measures
- Lead accident investigations and collaborate with regulatory authorities
- Coordinate health and safety training and facilitate OHS committee meetings
Requirements
- College diploma or university certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety laws and regulations
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Valid driver’s license with ability to travel between sites
- Bilingualism is an asset
