Obstetrics and Gynecology Consultant

Responsibilities

• Conduct prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal care for expecting mothers.
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of obstetric and gynecological conditions, including high-risk pregnancies.
• Perform gynecological examinations, Pap smears, and reproductive health screenings.
• Provide counseling and treatment for infertility, menstrual irregularities, and hormonal disorders.
• Perform surgical procedures including cesarean sections, hysterectomies, and laparoscopic surgeries.
• Manage obstetric emergencies such as ectopic pregnancies, pre-eclampsia, and fetal distress.
• Educate patients on contraception, family planning, and reproductive health.
• Document patient history and treatment plans in compliance with medical standards.
• Mentor and train medical interns, junior doctors, and nursing staff.
• Engage in medical research and publish findings in professional journals.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology (MS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Valid medical license to practice in the region.
• Completion of a formal residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Proven clinical experience in a hospital or maternity ward setting.
• Proficiency in performing cesarean sections, hysterectomies, and laparoscopic procedures.
• Strong communication skills for patient counseling and family interaction.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with nurses, midwives, and other healthcare professionals.
