Obstetric Anaesthesiologist

Responsibilities

• Manage pain relief through techniques like epidurals
• Provide anaesthesia for caesarean sections and emergency procedures
• Respond swiftly to critical situations such as eclampsia or haemorrhage
• Provide tailored care for high-risk patients
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and neonatal teams
• Ensure safety through equipment checks and meticulous documentation
• Guide junior colleagues
• Shape best practices through audits, teaching, and protocol development

Requirements

• GMC Specialist Register - Obstetric Anaesthesia
• FRCA
• CCT or CESR
• 6+ months NHS Consultant Obstetric Anaesthesia experience
