Responsibilities
- Monitor and treat patients during pregnancy and childbirth, including prenatal advising and postnatal care
- Conduct follow-ups to monitor and track patient conditions
- Counsel patients on safe sex practices and preventative medicine
- Order and analyze necessary tests, screenings, biopsies, and scans for diagnosis
- Direct, advise, and supervise medical staff including nurses and physician assistants
- Ensure adequate patient flow in a busy outpatient clinic
- Provide culturally competent care to a diverse patient population
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)
- Valid license to practice and board certification in the state
- Proficiency in patient charting and relevant computer programs
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years practicing medicine in hospital or private practice
