Oberarzt Spezielle Schmerztherapie

Responsibilities

• Provide senior medical care and treatment for patients with chronic pain syndromes using multimodal therapy concepts
• Responsible for structured pain medical diagnostics considering somatic, psychological, and psychosocial factors
• Manage and monitor the entire treatment process, including medication, interventions, and complementary medicine
• Provide professional guidance and supervision for specialist doctors and interdisciplinary teams
• Coordinate collaboration with psychotherapy, physiotherapy, and nursing departments
• Lead interdisciplinary case discussions, pain conferences, and training sessions
• Contribute to the strategic and conceptual development of pain medicine services

Requirements

• Completed specialist medical training (e.g., Anesthesiology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, or General Medicine)
• Additional qualification in Special Pain Therapy (Spezielle Schmerztherapie)
• Profound clinical experience in pain medicine and chronic pain syndromes
• Experience in the guidance and supervision of medical colleagues
• Proficiency in multimodal and interdisciplinary treatment concepts
• Strong social competence, communication skills, and empathy
