OBD Traceability Engineer, Sr Specialist

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end traceability strategy for OBD requirements across software-defined vehicle architecture
• Define, implement, and improve a robust traceability framework connecting regulatory, system, and software requirements
• Establish and govern traceability structures and data standards within tools like Jama, DOORS, or Polarion
• Provide technical leadership across OBD system engineering, software development, and validation teams
• Link validation artifacts from HIL, SIL, MIL, and vehicle tests back to requirements
• Support compliance readiness for internal and external assessments
• Partner with architecture teams to align traceability with SDV principles
• Mentor team members and establish best practices for requirements quality

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in automotive diagnostics, systems engineering, or requirements lifecycle management
• Proven experience leading end-to-end traceability for complex automotive systems (OBD, powertrain, or SDV)
• Deep understanding of OBDII regulations, diagnostic architectures, and DTC structures
• Advanced expertise with requirements tools such as Jama, DOORS, or Polarion
• Strong understanding of validation environments including HIL, SIL, and MIL
• Solid knowledge of UDS diagnostics and diagnostic communication interfaces
• Ability to interpret Simulink models and system architectures
