OBD Requirements Testing Sr Specialist

Responsibilities

• Own the definition and maintenance of testable OBD requirements aligned with regulatory expectations
• Translate OBD system requirements into clear validation criteria and structured test specifications
• Develop and govern test concepts for OBD monitors, readiness behavior, and DTC logic
• Ensure full traceability from requirements to validation activities and release evidence
• Partner with HIL engineers, validation teams, and software developers to align on test scope
• Lead the development of HIL, SIL, MIL, and vehicle-level OBD test scenarios
• Analyze test results, diagnostic traces, and logs to identify gaps or non-compliant behavior
• Support compliance readiness and certification activities through validation reports and technical evidence
• Mentor engineers and contribute to best practices for OBD validation methodology

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in automotive diagnostics, validation, or systems engineering
• Deep understanding of OBDII regulations, DTC behavior, and emissions-related validation
• Hands-on experience with HIL, SIL, MIL, and vehicle-level validation
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink, ETAS INCA, CANoe/CANalyzer, and CANape
• Knowledge of UDS diagnostics, CAN, and Ethernet communication
• Experience with requirements tools such as Jama, DOORS, or Polarion
• Ability to interpret measurement data, logs (MDF/BLF), and diagnostic traces
