About the role
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain OBD requirements related to IUMPR performance
- Develop requirements for monitor enable conditions, execution criteria, and logic
- Ensure OBD monitors achieve sufficient in-use performance ratios across operating scenarios
- Collaborate with system, calibration, and software teams on monitor strategies
- Identify and mitigate risks related to low monitor execution rates
- Support definition of drive cycles, validation approaches, and data evaluation methods
- Analyze vehicle and HIL/test data to evaluate monitor performance and compliance
- Ensure alignment between monitor design, readiness requirements, and regulatory expectations
- Support validation teams by defining acceptance criteria and test cases
- Ensure traceability of IUMPR-related requirements
- Contribute to regulatory readiness through technical documentation and audit preparation
- Coordinate activities across prototype and serial development phases
- Partner with architecture and systems teams for SDV compatibility
- Continuously improve monitor strategies and validation methods
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, IT, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in automotive diagnostics, emissions, OBD calibration, or requirements engineering
- Proven experience with IUMPR concepts and regulatory thresholds
- Strong understanding of OBDII regulations and monitor execution strategies
- Experience managing requirements for diagnostic monitor frequency and robustness
- Familiarity with electrified powertrains (BEV/EREV)
- Experience working within software-defined vehicle (SDV) architecture
- Hands-on experience with MATLAB, Simulink, ETAS INCA, CANoe, CANalyzer, or CANape
- Experience with requirements tools such as Jama, DOORS, or Polarion
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating real-world diagnostic data
- Ability to understand Simulink models and functional logic
