OBD Integration Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the integration of OBD functions across the software-defined vehicle architecture
• Coordinate OBD requirements across powertrain, energy, thermal, chassis, and body domains
• Ensure correct interaction between OBD monitors, diagnostic events, and vehicle states
• Integrate and validate DTC behavior, fault propagation, and readiness states
• Analyze system-level diagnostic issues using vehicle data, HIL/MIL results, and network traces
• Support development and validation teams in defining integration test scenarios
• Ensure traceability from OBD requirements to system integration and validation results
• Partner with architecture teams to support future SDV capabilities like OTA updates

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in automotive E/E integration, diagnostics, or software validation
• Proven experience integrating OBDII diagnostic functions into vehicle architectures
• Strong understanding of software-defined vehicle (SDV) architectures
• Solid knowledge of UDS diagnostics, CAN/Ethernet communication, and fault propagation
• Hands-on experience with CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape, ETAS INCA, or MATLAB/Simulink
• Experience with requirements management tools like Jama, DOORS, or Polarion
