O-Ring Product Lead (Mechanical)

Responsibilities

• Lead the O-Ring product development cycle through iterative design-build-test cycles
• Develop and release product realization documentation, including specifications, drawings, and qualification plans
• Resolve producibility and inspectability issues by collaborating with production agencies
• Act as the primary technical interface between design and production teams
• Support qualification testing and documentation efforts for desiccant designs
• Present technical findings and progress at design reviews and programmatic meetings
• Partner with multidisciplinary teams, including materials scientists and quality assurance, to ensure project success

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline
• Active DOE Q-level Security Clearance (or equivalent)
• U.S. Citizenship
• Experience in mechanical hardware design
• Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., Creo/ProE, SolidWorks)
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and drawing interpretation

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree (MS) in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering
• 3-5 years of relevant professional work experience
• Experience with product realization within the NNSA complex
• Experience managing hardware through manufacturing and production challenges
• Experience with environmental testing, including test plan development and data acquisition
• Familiarity with computational simulation and modeling tools
