O&M Technician Crewmember

Responsibilities

• Perform operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting on SURTASS mission equipment in accordance with Periodic Maintenance Schedules (PMS).
• Work on SHF SATCOM Communications, Processing, Passive and Active Arrays, and other supporting systems.
• Complete qualifications in the SURTASS Operation Center and Array Operation positions.
• Participate in the deployment and retrieval of Tow Arrayed evolutions and other SURTASS operations.
• Assist the Technical Advisor in compiling data, maintaining records/logs, and monitoring Naval Message Traffic.
• Maintain accurate logistics inventory and provide periodic updates.
• Perform assigned collateral duties such as COMSEC, logistics, 3M, or safety.
• Work closely with active-duty military and government personnel in a shipboard environment on a 6-month rotating deployment schedule.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Technology, or graduate of US Navy Electronics “C” school (or equivalent civilian technical school).
• DoD 8140 IAT Level II and Operating System certification.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or equivalent.
• Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret eligibility.
• Valid U.S. passport.
• Ability to pass a Mariner's Physical per COMSCINST 6000.l.c.
• Proficiency with network computers and familiarity with operational schematics and maintenance publications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Three years of hands-on experience with VME computers, networks, digital computers, microprocessors, or sonar systems.
• Previous experience with Surveillance Towed Array Sensory System (SURTASS) mission systems.
• Experience with EKMS/COMSEC.
• Experience with Super High Frequency (SHF) communications (e.g., WSC-6, WSC-3, CBSP, Intellian systems).
