About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach lecture and laboratory courses following the course syllabus to foster student success and engagement.
  • Participate in the continuous development, review, and revision of the department's curriculum.
  • Maintain currency and competence in the nursing discipline and teaching methodologies.
  • Implement evaluations and use assessment data to continuously improve teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Perform administrative duties including maintaining attendance records, grading, and timely grade submission.
  • Serve on department and college committees and act as an ambassador for the nursing program.
  • Mentor and coach students to help them meet their educational and professional goals.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing.
  • Valid and maintained Ohio Registered Nurse Licensure.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing practice experience.
  • Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching a concept-based curriculum across the lifespan in didactic, laboratory, and clinical settings.
  • Compliance with all immunization requirements upon hire.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in groups.
  • Proficiency in using technology for instructional support, research, and communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of successful prior teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize Human Patient Simulators or similar high-technology simulation in classroom and laboratory settings.
