Nursing Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direct supervision to nursing staff within the Inpatient Behavioral Health unit
• Plan, direct, and coordinate operational and personnel activities to ensure high-quality patient care
• Monitor staffing levels and patient census to promote teamwork, communication, and efficient patient flow
• Investigate and resolve patient and staff complaints within assigned units
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, accrediting agencies, and department policies
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, orientation, and performance evaluations for personnel
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate the effectiveness of care and implement solutions
• Manage work schedules and process timecards using KRONOS
• Assist with budget monitoring and the implementation of IT system changes

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Current Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• 2+ years of RN experience, preferably in a related clinical setting
• BLS Certification
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or leadership experience
• Master’s degree in nursing or a related field
• Bilingual capabilities
• Experience with Meditech
