Nursing Quality Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage the strategic execution of nursing and patient care projects within the PICU department.
• Perform monthly data submissions and utilize system data to generate scorecards, graphs, and performance reports.
• Provide transparent clinical quality data to support quality meetings, shared governance, and improvement groups.
• Analyze performance reports to identify non-compliant cases and collaborate with nursing and physician leaders to drive compliance.
• Identify and lead projects that drive nursing excellence and clinical practice improvements.
• Support operational leaders in quality improvement initiatives and action planning related to clinical quality indicators.
• Engage with inter-professional teams to modify clinical practices and improve patient outcomes and experiences.
• Facilitate accurate data collection and create abstracts for unit QI projects for symposium and conference submissions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Valid Illinois Registered Professional Nurse License.
• Proficiency in SmartSheet, Microsoft Excel, Access, and Visio.
• Knowledge of NDNQI data and Magnet standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of Quality Improvement or Project Management experience.
• Knowledge of clinical systems and experience with system data and reporting.
• National Certification.
