Nursing Professor

Responsibilities

• Teach didactic and clinical graduate nursing courses in pre-licensure and MSN programs using evidence-based strategies and technology-enhanced platforms.
• Develop, revise, and implement curricula consistent with AACN Essentials, CCNE standards, and NONPF standards.
• Provide clinical oversight, including site recruitment, approval, and preceptor oversight.
• Offer academic advising, student consultation, and timely, constructive feedback to learners.
• Foster interprofessional education and maintain accreditation documentation.
• Engage in scholarly activities related to nursing education or social determinants of health.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Active, unencumbered Illinois RN license.
• Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) credential, or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
• Minimum of two years of experience in graduate nursing and/or Nurse Practitioner (NP) education.

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in nursing or a closely related field (PhD, DNP, DNSc, EdD).
• APRN certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
• Experience in Advanced Pharmacology, Advanced Health Assessment, and Advanced Pathophysiology.
• Prior leadership experience in higher education and experience with curriculum development and accreditation processes.
