About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction through lecture, lab, and clinical teaching for LPN and RN programs
- Update existing program and course curriculum using current teaching methodologies
- Assist with the management of student learning outcome (SLO) creation and assessment
- Support local business partnerships to serve student interests
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance instruction and student success
- Participate in the development of course materials, equipment, and distance education
- Consult with students during regularly scheduled office hours
- Serve on department, division, and college committees
Requirements
- Active, unencumbered NYS RN License
- Master’s degree in nursing (Doctorate preferred)
- Hospital-based clinical experience in medical-surgical and critical-care nursing
- Clinical experience in acute care, long-term care, maternity, pediatrics, obstetrics, or mental health
- Basic knowledge of curriculum development and assessment
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate in Nursing
- Experience providing instruction, including through clinical simulation
