About the role

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee care for patients with complex wound, ostomy, and skin care needs across inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Perform expert clinical assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
  • Deliver patient and family education regarding ostomy and wound care, including the development of tailored educational materials
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, evaluate clinical outcomes, and integrate evidence-based practices into care
  • Contribute to research and academic initiatives while maintaining accurate clinical documentation
  • Act as a clinical resource and support staff education within the organization

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) Level II Rescuer certification
  • Five years of relevant nursing experience, preferably in an acute care setting
  • Two or more years of specialty experience in wound, ostomy, and continence care
  • Completion or progress toward advanced education in wound, ostomy, and continence care (e.g., NSWOCC, WOCN, or WOCC(C))

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Nursing
  • Membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO)
  • Research experience
