About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee care for patients with complex wound, ostomy, and skin care needs across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Perform expert clinical assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Deliver patient and family education regarding ostomy and wound care, including the development of tailored educational materials
- Lead quality improvement initiatives, evaluate clinical outcomes, and integrate evidence-based practices into care
- Contribute to research and academic initiatives while maintaining accurate clinical documentation
- Act as a clinical resource and support staff education within the organization
Requirements
- Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) Level II Rescuer certification
- Five years of relevant nursing experience, preferably in an acute care setting
- Two or more years of specialty experience in wound, ostomy, and continence care
- Completion or progress toward advanced education in wound, ostomy, and continence care (e.g., NSWOCC, WOCN, or WOCC(C))
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing
- Membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO)
- Research experience
