Nursing Assistant

Responsibilities

• Take patient vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation
• Assist patients with exercises and guided activities such as ambulating, transferring, turning, and positioning
• Perform personal hygiene tasks including bathing, mouth care, peri-care, and skin care
• Maintain a clean and comfortable patient environment in alignment with MSK policies
• Ensure patients have necessary daily supplies and change bed linens as needed
• Record patient intake and output
• Escort discharged patients out of the hospital as directed by the RN

Requirements

• Nursing Assistant or healthcare-related certification (PCT, EMT, Med Tech, Home Health Aide, LPN) OR at least 1 year of direct patient care experience in inpatient, outpatient, emergency, long-term care, or home health settings
• BLS Certification required by the time of hire
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, transferring, prolonged standing, and frequent movement throughout a shift

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a pediatric setting
