Nurse Tutor

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support to Direct Entry Masters Prelicensure (DE-MSN) students through individual and group tutoring sessions.
• Conduct tutorials in core nursing courses, including pathophysiology, pharmacology, and medical-surgical nursing.
• Consult with students to identify specific academic needs and offer appropriate review resources.
• Help students develop essential learning and study skills, such as time management and test-taking strategies.
• Collaborate with faculty to ensure tutoring resources align with course objectives and assignments.
• Facilitate sessions both in-person and virtually using Microsoft Teams.

Requirements

• MSN degree.
• Strong subject matter knowledge in core nursing courses.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and various learning styles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Teams or similar virtual meeting software.

Preferred Qualifications

• A strong academic performance record as a former DE-MSN student.
• Demonstrated excellence in foundational sciences, including pathophysiology and pharmacology.
