Nurse (RN)

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and health services within an assigned campus by implementing school health programs and promoting good health practices.
• Render first aid and emergency care to sick or injured students and staff.
• Administer medications and immunizations in accordance with district policies and legal guidelines.
• Plan and conduct student screening procedures, including vision, hearing, and spinal screenings.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student health records and immunization data.
• Coordinate with parents, teachers, and medical professionals to manage student medical needs and accommodations.
• Supervise and train LVNs, Nurse Aides, and other designated school staff in clinic procedures.
• Establish plans of care for medically fragile students.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited professional nursing education program.
• Current Texas RN license issued by the Board of Nurse Examiners.
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of nursing practice in a public school, public health, or related setting.
• CPR certification.
• Vision, hearing, and spinal screening certification.
