About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including obtaining physical histories and performing reviews of systems for inpatient and residential units.
- Interpret laboratory tests and develop management plans for acute and episodic health issues.
- Recommend and prescribe medications within the appropriate scope of practice.
- Coordinate timely communication with emergency departments and external providers to ensure safe continuity of care and patient transfers.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, RNs, and other medical staff, to provide optimal treatment.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
Requirements
- For Nurse Practitioners: Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program and an active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority.
- For Physician Assistants: Master’s Degree from an ARC-PA accredited program and current certification by the NCCPA.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Valid license to practice in the state of Ohio.
- CPR Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with patients with psychiatric diagnoses, including eating disorders.
- Previous practice in a hospital setting (internal medicine, family medicine) or an emergency/urgent care setting.
- Ability to provide age-specific and developmentally appropriate care for diverse patient populations.
