Nurse Practitioner

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and management for breast medical oncology patients in an outpatient setting
• Perform patient histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations
• Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement comprehensive plans of care
• Manage treatment-related toxicities, symptom management, and palliative care
• Review laboratory, pathology, and radiographic test results
• Identify individuals eligible for clinical trials and support clinical research participation
• Provide patient and family education, counseling, and support
• Participate in tumor board meetings and multidisciplinary programmatic meetings
• Collaborate with other Advanced Practice Professionals to ensure continuous patient care

Requirements

• Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
• Current specialty certification as a Nurse Practitioner (e.g., Adult-Gerontology Acute Care, Primary Care, Adult NP, FNP, or Acute NP)
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the NCSBN
• Current DEA registration
• AHA Approved BLS certification
• 2 years of Advanced Practice Professional (APP) experience
• Clinical experience in oncology

Preferred Qualifications

• Specific experience in Breast Medical Oncology
• Experience caring for patients participating in clinical trials
• Demonstrated ability to function independently and work effectively in a team environment
• Strong leadership skills and excellent interpersonal communication
