About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized clinical care, assessment, and treatment for adolescents and young adults (ages 15–25) with Pediatric-type CNS tumors
  • Conduct independent and collaborative visits for treatment planning, symptom management, and monitoring of disease toxicities
  • Manage acute and chronic complications including seizures, endocrine dysfunction, and neurologic deficits
  • Serve as a central liaison across multiple institutions to facilitate seamless care transitions and coordinated communication
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including neurosurgery, radiation oncology, and supportive care services
  • Support age-appropriate palliative care integration and advance care planning
  • Apply evidence-based practice to patient education and participate in clinical research initiatives

Requirements

  • Current College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) Registration in the Extended Class (EC) as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Completion of a Master's degree
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Evidence of professional malpractice insurance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Five years of relevant experience, including three years in neuro-oncology
  • Certification in Oncology Nursing
  • Experience in nursing research methodology
  • Membership in the Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology (CANO)
