About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized clinical care, assessment, and treatment for adolescents and young adults (ages 15–25) with Pediatric-type CNS tumors
- Conduct independent and collaborative visits for treatment planning, symptom management, and monitoring of disease toxicities
- Manage acute and chronic complications including seizures, endocrine dysfunction, and neurologic deficits
- Serve as a central liaison across multiple institutions to facilitate seamless care transitions and coordinated communication
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including neurosurgery, radiation oncology, and supportive care services
- Support age-appropriate palliative care integration and advance care planning
- Apply evidence-based practice to patient education and participate in clinical research initiatives
Requirements
- Current College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) Registration in the Extended Class (EC) as a Nurse Practitioner
- Completion of a Master's degree
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Evidence of professional malpractice insurance
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise as a Nurse Practitioner
- Five years of relevant experience, including three years in neuro-oncology
- Certification in Oncology Nursing
- Experience in nursing research methodology
- Membership in the Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology (CANO)
