Nurse Practitioner

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care using advanced clinical competence in pain management
• Collect and interpret patient health data to determine holistic care needs
• Lead quality improvement, research, and policy development initiatives
• Coordinate and participate in professional development and education programs
• Act as a consultant and resource to the professional community and other agencies
• Perform duties consistent with the job classification as required

Requirements

• BScN and completion of Masters Degree Program in Nursing (or near completion)
• Nurse Practitioner (NP) certificate complete or pending
• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Registered Nurse Extended Class (EC) certification complete or pending
• 3-5 years of nursing experience in an acute care environment
• Completion of CNO approved controlled substances education
• Experience with electronic patient record systems
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and negotiation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Nursing experience in pain and addiction medicine
• Experience in nursing research methodology
• Eligibility for cross-appointment to an academic institution
• Membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO)
