Nurse Practitioner - Spine and Other Program Needs

Responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical care and high-level autonomy in managing patients within the spine surgery group and broader neurosciences program
• Collect and interpret patient health data to determine medical diagnoses and treat complex responses
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and perform administrative responsibilities to enhance patient care
• Participate in policy and procedure development and conduct research activities
• Deliver and coordinate professional development and educational programs for nursing staff
• Act as a clinical resource and consultant to the professional community and other healthcare agencies

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Nursing (NP Adult or Primary Care stream)
• Current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• 3-5 years of acute care nursing experience in neurosurgery, spine, oncology, neuro-interventional, or neurology
• Clinical competence in neurosurgical and orthopedic spinal conditions
• Experience in nursing research methodology
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Canadian Nurses Association certification in Neuroscience Nursing
• Eligibility for or current cross-appointment to an academic institution
• Membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO)
