Nurse Practitioner-Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care by assessing, diagnosing, and managing patient health using the medical model and evidence-based practices.
• Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical histories, physical examinations, and the interpretation of diagnostic tests.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
• Monitor patient progress through follow-up assessments and adjust treatment plans to ensure therapeutic effectiveness.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to facilitate seamless transitions throughout the continuum of care.
• Maintain meticulous and timely documentation of all patient encounters, assessments, and interventions in accordance with hospital policies.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and clinical outcomes.
• Optimize healthcare resource utilization while maintaining high standards of cost-effective care.

Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited school of nursing.
• Active and unrestricted California licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP).
• Nurse Practitioner Furnishing (NPF) license from the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).
• Current board certification as an NP by a nationally accredited organization.
• Valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate to dispense controlled substances (II-V).
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a Nurse Practitioner providing care in an acute or ambulatory setting within a specialized area.
• Minimum of one year of experience with acute stroke and other neurovascular emergencies (for Inpatient Specialty Programs).
