Nurse Practitioner II

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and perform physical examinations in outpatient offices and the inpatient epilepsy monitoring unit
• Coordinate patient workups, including managing hospital admissions
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Prescribe medications and manage patient care via telephone as appropriate
• Conduct routine follow-up appointments and urgent same-day or next-day office visits under physician supervision
• Coordinate multidisciplinary services and facilitate patient education
• Assist with clinical coverage, forms, letters, and patient messages

Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent in education and experience
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience
• Current New York State Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
• Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Ability to meet New York-Presbyterian Hospital credentialing requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in neurological patient care, pediatrics, or family medicine
• Experience working within an academic medical center
