Nurse Practitioner I

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations
• Manage neurologic symptoms, monitor medication tolerability and adherence, and coordinate care among practitioners
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Manage routine visits independently and collaborate with attending physicians on complex cases
• Coordinate inpatient admissions and discharges as needed
• Manage patient inquiries via telephone and communication portals
• Participate in the performance of clinical trials
• Perform other related clinical duties as assigned

Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent in education and experience
• Four years of relevant nursing experience
• Current New York State NP license
• Current New York State RN license
• Proficiency with Lumbar Puncture or a willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in neurologic patient care
• Experience in an academic medical center
• Experience in Multiple Sclerosis nursing
• Ability to meet New York-Presbyterian Hospital credentialing requirements
• Spanish language proficiency
