Nurse Practitioner I

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations
• Manage neurologic symptoms and monitor medication tolerability and adherence
• Coordinate care among a multidisciplinary team of practitioners
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Manage routine visits independently and collaborate with attending physicians on complex cases
• Coordinate inpatient admissions and discharges on occasion
• Manage patient inquiries via telephone and digital communication portals
• Participate in the performance of clinical trials

Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent in education and experience
• Four years of relevant nursing experience
• Current New York State Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
• Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in neurologic patient care or Multiple Sclerosis nursing
• Proficiency with diagnostic Lumbar Puncture (or willingness to learn)
• Experience working within an academic medical center
• Ability to meet New York-Presbyterian Hospital credentialing requirements
• Spanish language proficiency
