Nurse Practitioner

Responsibilities

• Act as the psychiatric prescriber for individuals served by ACCS teams and Respite services
• Provide services that are culturally responsive, strengths-based, and recovery-oriented
• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and implement comprehensive psychiatric treatment recommendations
• Provide education regarding presenting conditions and treatment options to support shared decision-making
• Monitor therapeutic effectiveness, side effects, and conduct appropriate lab monitoring
• Provide motivational interviewing and counseling around harm reduction practices

Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
• Licensure from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing
• Registration to practice as a Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center
• Valid registration to issue written oral prescriptions for controlled substances (MA DPH and US DEA)
• History managing acute psychiatric patients and patients with serious mental illness
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
