Nurse Practitioner - Digestive & Liver Diseases (Gastroenterology)

Responsibilities

• Oversee IBD infusion therapy, including scheduling, orders, renewals, and prior authorizations
• Review and coordinate follow-up for pathology results and screening/surveillance colonoscopy findings
• Manage direct-to-procedure (DTP) workflows for advanced and inpatient procedures
• Provide clinical coverage for physicians, including inbox management and urgent patient needs
• Perform and document clinical assessments, histories, physical exams, and care plans
• Serve as a primary contact for patients to provide education on disease processes and medication adherence
• Coordinate multidisciplinary services including nutrition, mental health, surgery, and social work
• Triage patient calls, My Connect messages, and urgent clinical concerns

Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent in education and experience
• 1-2 years of related clinical experience
• Current New York State Nurse Practitioner license
• Current New York State Registered Nurse license
• Board certification
• Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration or eligibility
• Strong clinical assessment, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
• Prior clinical experience in Gastroenterology, Endoscopy, or General Surgery
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system
