About the role

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Advanced Cardiac Care and Transplantation team to provide inpatient and outpatient pediatric cardiac care.
  • Perform and document comprehensive medical, surgical, and psychosocial health histories and physical examinations.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including laboratory and imaging tests, to form differential diagnoses.
  • Facilitate hospital admissions, transfers, and discharges, coordinating appropriate inpatient and outpatient accommodations.
  • Coordinate patient care activities, including teaching, counseling, and discharge planning.
  • Perform phone triage for acute clinical issues and conduct assessments per protocol.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of standards of care in accordance with institutional policies.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent in education and experience.
  • Two years of related clinical experience.
  • Current New York State (NYS) Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Registered Nurse (RN) licenses.
  • Current NP Board Certification.
  • Current DEA license.
  • Current BCLS and ACLS certification.
  • Ability to meet New York-Presbyterian Hospital credentialing requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pediatric Cardiology experience in either inpatient or outpatient settings.
  • One year of specific related Nurse Practitioner experience.
  • Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with medical computer applications.
