Nurse Practitioner - Cardiology

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse group of cardiac patients, predominantly those with Advanced Heart Failure and Heart Transplant.
• Provide direct patient care, including obtaining histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering/evaluating diagnostic tests.
• Diagnose and manage both chronic and acute care problems from admission through discharge.
• Counsel and educate patients and caregivers on disease processes and care management.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address quality care initiatives and length of stay.
• Document all patient and caregiver encounters accurately within the EMR.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Nursing or equivalent in education and experience.
• 1-2 years of clinical experience.
• Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenses.
• NPI Certification.
• Current NP Board Certification.
• Eligibility for ANCC Board Certification in Acute Care.
• Eligibility for DEA certification.
• Eligibility for American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS and BLS.
• Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule, including flex shifts, nights, or day shifts with night rotations.
• Excellent clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) preparation.
• Previous experience in cardiology, advanced heart failure, or transplant.
• Prior experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
