About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients dealing with cancer or related diagnoses
  • Initiate and document appropriate interventions and prescribe therapies as indicated
  • Provide patient and family education regarding wellness and community resources
  • Incorporate evidence-based research into clinical practice
  • Complete patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program
  • Successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program
  • Valid RN/NRPR state license
  • Current board certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Clinical assessment skills relative to medical oncology patients

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years of post-MSN experience in nursing
  • Experience managing physiologic and psychological effects of cancer treatment
  • Knowledge of OSHA and Joint Commission Accreditation regulations
  • Prior in-patient experience
  • Oncology Nursing certification
