About the role
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients dealing with cancer or related diagnoses
- Initiate and document appropriate interventions and prescribe therapies as indicated
- Provide patient and family education regarding wellness and community resources
- Incorporate evidence-based research into clinical practice
- Complete patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards
Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program
- Successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program
- Valid RN/NRPR state license
- Current board certification
- Current CPR certification
- Clinical assessment skills relative to medical oncology patients
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of post-MSN experience in nursing
- Experience managing physiologic and psychological effects of cancer treatment
- Knowledge of OSHA and Joint Commission Accreditation regulations
- Prior in-patient experience
- Oncology Nursing certification
