About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic development, implementation, and operational leadership for oncology patient navigation services.
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of nurse navigators and support staff to ensure professional development and optimal performance.
  • Design and sustain comprehensive navigation models to improve patient access, care coordination, and quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary leadership, physicians, and ambulatory operations to standardize workflows and optimize transitions of care.
  • Analyze performance metrics and patient satisfaction data to drive continuous quality improvement and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Ensure program alignment with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational goals.
  • Support the growth of the oncology service line and initiatives related to health equity and patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • BSN required; Master's degree (MSN, MHA, or MBA) required.
  • Current Illinois RN licensure (or eligibility for licensure in Illinois).
  • 8+ years of nursing experience, including managing multiple large patient care areas.
  • 3+ years of progressive management experience, preferably in an ambulatory oncology setting.
  • Direct experience in oncology nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • National nursing certification (OCN strongly preferred).
  • Experience in a Magnet-designated organization.
  • Demonstrated experience leading organizational change to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Strong ability to use data analysis techniques to drive performance and present conclusions to stakeholders.
