Nurse Clinician-Cardiology

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement nursing interventions based on clinical findings.
• Execute routine nursing duties including phlebotomy, medication administration, and vital sign measurement.
• Demonstrate clinical competency in specialty-related procedures such as conscious sedation and wound care.
• Triage and prioritize incoming telephone calls using clinical assessment skills.
• Manage urgent and emergent medical situations in accordance with organizational protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, physicians, and other departments to coordinate patient care.
• Initiate and coordinate patient and staff education to ensure understanding of medical materials.
• Maintain accurate, clear, and complete documentation in patient medical records.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification.
• Recent nursing experience (within the past five years) or a new nursing graduate (within the past two years).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).
• 1-2 years of experience in ambulatory or acute care settings.
