About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic regimens for patients within the Digestive Disease team
- Act as a liaison between physicians, patients, families, and clinical research programs
- Conduct, triage, and follow up on patient phone calls to the physician
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, diagnostic tests, and bedside procedures
- Monitor vital signs of patients under conscious sedation during procedures
- Counsel patients regarding lifestyle modifications, medication regimens, and side effects
- Coordinate patient admissions, follow-up appointments, and pre-operative testing
- Support clinical research by screening patients and maintaining demographic databases
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN); BSN preferred
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois
- Minimum of two years of experience working as an RN
- Experience working in a community health setting
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN degree or higher
- Experience in gastroenterology or digestive disease specialty
