Nurse Associate, Digestive Disease

Responsibilities

• Coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic regimens for patients within the Digestive Disease team
• Act as a liaison between physicians, patients, families, and clinical research programs
• Conduct, triage, and follow up on patient phone calls to the physician
• Assist physicians with patient examinations, diagnostic tests, and bedside procedures
• Monitor vital signs of patients under conscious sedation during procedures
• Counsel patients regarding lifestyle modifications, medication regimens, and side effects
• Coordinate patient admissions, follow-up appointments, and pre-operative testing
• Support clinical research by screening patients and maintaining demographic databases

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN); BSN preferred
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois
• Minimum of two years of experience working as an RN
• Experience working in a community health setting

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN degree or higher
• Experience in gastroenterology or digestive disease specialty
