About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia and related care to facilitate diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical procedures under medical direction
- Prepare preoperative assessments, including health histories and physical examinations
- Develop and implement Anesthesia Care Plans in collaboration with anesthesiologists
- Initiate and maintain appropriate perioperative anesthesia care and maintain accurate patient records
- Complete postoperative evaluations in accordance with department policies
- Support perioperative providers and participate in ongoing clinical projects
- Maintain all required licensure, certifications, and BLS/ACLS/PALS status
Requirements
- Master's degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program
- Current Michigan RN license and certification as a nurse anesthetist
- Two years of pediatric ICU nursing experience
- Two years of nurse anesthesia experience
- Current ACLS or PALS certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years of pediatric ICU nursing experience
- Two years of pediatric nurse anesthesia experience
- Five years of nurse anesthesia experience
- Completion of a pediatric nurse anesthesia fellowship
- Doctoral degree from an accredited educational program
