About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist the Chief CRNA in managing daily operational functions and CRNA staff supervision
- Provide administrative and functional oversight to the CRNA charge function
- Administer anesthesia and related care to patients of all ages under medical direction
- Prepare preoperative assessments, including health histories and physical examinations
- Develop and implement anesthesia care plans in collaboration with Anesthesiologists
- Monitor daily OR operational workflow and assist with resource and scheduling needs
- Maintain accurate patient records and quality assurance documentation
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, ASA, AANA, and state/federal regulations
- Participate in the selection, evaluation, coaching, and mentoring of CRNA personnel
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program
- Current Michigan nursing license and Michigan Nurse Anesthetist certification (or achievable)
- Current NBCRNA certification
- Minimum of five years of adult nurse anesthesia experience within the past 64 months
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Ability to fulfill weekend, night, and call obligations
- Ability to wear appropriate PPE due to potential radiation exposure
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree (PhD, DNP, or DrAP)
- Previous experience in a healthcare leadership role
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively in an Anesthesia Care Team Model
- Experience with evidence-based practice and project management
- Experience in new employee or SRNA orientation and mentorship
