Nurse Aide II

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assist in maintaining a safe environment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Obtain and report vital signs, including temperature, height/length, weight, oxygen saturation, and pain scores
• Monitor and report the physical condition of assigned patients and record intake and output
• Collect and transport specimens such as urine, stool, sputum, and swabs
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including hygiene, bathing, oral care, and feeding
• Perform wound care tasks such as cleansing and redressing non-sterile wounds and applying bandages
• Assist with respiratory care, including tracheostomy care and coaching patients on incentive spirometer use
• Maintain patient room orderliness, stock supplies, and set up equipment for admissions or procedures

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Ability to read and write
• Must meet one of the following: 6 months of recent patient care experience, Junior status in an accredited BSN program, or Second year in an accredited ADN program

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification as a Nurse Aide or Medical Assistant
• Recent experience in an acute care inpatient setting
• Basic computer skills
