Nurse Aide II

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assist in maintaining a safe environment under RN supervision
• Obtain vital signs, temperature, height, weight, and oxygen saturation
• Monitor and report physical conditions, intake/output, and monitor alarms
• Collect specimens including urine, stool, sputum, and swabs
• Perform point of care testing and maintain equipment
• Assist with patient ADLs including hygiene, feeding, and mobility
• Assist with urinary catheter care and wound cleansing
• Support respiratory care including tracheostomy care assistance
• Maintain orderliness of patient rooms and stock supplies
• Document care provided and assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• Ability to read and write
• Minimum 6 months recent experience in a patient care setting OR junior status in an accredited BSN program OR second year in an accredited ADN program

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification as a Nurse Aide or Medical Assistant
• Recent experience in an acute care inpatient setting
• Basic computer skills
