About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assist in maintaining a safe environment under RN supervision
- Obtain vital signs, temperature, height, weight, and oxygen saturation
- Monitor and report physical conditions, intake/output, and monitor alarms
- Collect specimens including urine, stool, sputum, and swabs
- Perform point of care testing and maintain equipment
- Assist with patient ADLs including hygiene, feeding, and mobility
- Assist with urinary catheter care and wound cleansing
- Support respiratory care including tracheostomy care assistance
- Maintain orderliness of patient rooms and stock supplies
- Document care provided and assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Ability to read and write
- Minimum 6 months recent experience in a patient care setting OR junior status in an accredited BSN program OR second year in an accredited ADN program
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification as a Nurse Aide or Medical Assistant
- Recent experience in an acute care inpatient setting
- Basic computer skills
