Nuclear Quality Assurance Director

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Assurance (QA) programs in compliance with NRC, DOE, and ASME standards, including 10 CFR 50 Appendix B and NQA-1
• Conduct audits, inspections, and assessments to ensure adherence to quality standards
• Oversee the qualification of suppliers and subcontractors
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and regulatory teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions
• Review and approve technical documentation, including procedures, plans, and reports
• Support the development of training programs on quality assurance policies and best practices
• Prepare and present QA performance metrics and reports to management and regulatory bodies
• Participate in regulatory reviews and inspections

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field
• Strong knowledge of quality standards including 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1, and ISO 9001
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements from the NRC and DOE
• Proficiency in QA tools and methodologies such as root cause analysis and auditing
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary

Preferred Qualifications

• Quality assurance experience in the nuclear industry or a related regulated environment
• Certification in Quality Assurance or Nuclear QA (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, NQA-1 Lead Auditor)
• Experience in a fast-paced engineering environment
• Advanced degrees
