Nuclear I&C Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support efforts to restore HFIR’s operating power from 85 MW back to 100 MW as part of the PVR Project
• Collaborate with system engineers, designers, and multidisciplinary teams within RRD
• Provide I&C engineering design for both analog and digital systems
• Provide project management for large integrated modifications, including scope execution, budget tracking, and resource management
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards including DOE Orders, ICC, and IEEE

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, I&C engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum of 6 years working in DOE nuclear facilities, naval nuclear, and/or commercial nuclear plants
• Comprehensive understanding of nuclear technology, reactor safety basis, design, and construction
• Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuits, electric circuit theory, and AC power distribution concepts
• Proficiency with circuit simulation tools, AutoCAD, and printed circuit board design software
• Experience with configuration management and engineering change control processes in a nuclear environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with HMI/PLC control systems software
• Basic understanding of DOE Orders and Standards (e.g., DOE O 420.1C, DOE STD 1189, DOE STD-1073-2016)
